[SPONSOR POST] THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ADULTERY AND FORNICATION

It is needful to have the full revelation knowledge in our spirit and the understanding within our soul of the difference between the sin of Adultery and the sin of Fornication. The seriousness of these teachings enable us to understand the grievous implications in attempting the sin of Adultery and how Fornication is so powerful as to break the marriage tie between a man and his wife giving way to divorce.

Jesus Christ categorically declared in Matthew19:3-10 that there should be no divorce “except it be for fornication”.

The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause? And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away? He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so. And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery. His disciples say unto him, If the case of the man be so with his wife, it is not good to marry. Matt 19:3-10 KJV

There is a false teaching being propagated by some denominational churches that Adultery is a sin for the married and Fornication the sin for the single or unmarried people.

The prohibition of the illegitimate sin of Adultery by God is for the married and unmarried. When God listed out the Ten Commandments, He declared “Thou shall not commit adultery”. This law covers all sexual sins and forbids all humanity male and female, married or unmarried. No spiritually sound person will claim that the Ten Commandments forbid immorality on the part of the married but do not rebuke the same scarlet sin by the unmarried people.

Following the statement made by Jesus Christ in Matthew 19:3-10, the word Adultery is used for a single act of illegitimate intercourse between a man and woman. To a virgin this first act is an unlawful crime against humanity, against the breaking of the virgin veil of a woman mounted by God from birth.

Every man is expected to honor the Word of God which states that “it is not good to touch a woman” which indicates that the natural but invisible spiritual door frame of a woman should not be approached or accessed or tampered with. Any man in disobedience to God’s command who gains access to that part of the woman’s body, has committed Adultery punishable by death under God’s Law.

A medical researcher noted that the hymen is like a “door frame mounted in a doorway” that marks where the external genitalia stops and the internal genitalia begins. Nothing can go in or out of that doorway without passing through the door frame. Nothing can enter or exit the vagina without going through the hymen. It is specially designed by God for the new and legitimate husband.

In some cultures shortly after the wedding the new husband is allowed to prove that he had married a virgin by producing a bloody sheet. The breaking of the virgin’s veil that is the hymen successfully consummated the marriage. This practice not only gives the girl honor before God but also makes her an example of righteousness and holiness, a role model for others to follow. On the contrary this practice is rare and uncommon to find in our generation for reasons that many sports loving women lose their hymen when they engage in some rigorous exercises like cycling etc. Nevertheless, any undue illegitimate breaking-in through this doorpost of women is wicked and has some spiritual implications.

The scripture however enjoins a man and a woman to remain chaste and the bed of marriage undefiled until marriage ties are established according to God’s Laws in their relationship.

As believers in Christ we have to be mindful of this scarlet sin and ensure that our body is kept holy, pure and without blemish before the Lord.

We have to stop looking at a woman lustfully in order to avoid the sin of Adultery in our heart.

The scripture in Matthew 5:27-32 confirms this truth.
