There are many passages in the scripture to proof that God intended that every man should have sufficiency of life in this world. It is certain that 30yrs, 50yrs or 100yrs should not fall under this category because God has prescribed 120yrs for every man in this world.
The scriptures in Genesis 6:6 and Psalms 91:16 attests to this truth.
And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
Gen 6:3 KJV
He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.
Ps 91:15-16 KJV
We can here perceive God’s intention in granting us long life so that we would have more than enough time to accomplish the work we were sent into this world to do and be ready for heaven. Nobody will think of dying young if he had identified his vision and mission for God.
The scripture in Philippians 1:21-27 revealed the mind of Christ and showed it in the account of the life and death of Paul the apostle.
It states thus:
For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not. For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better. Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you. And having this confidence, I know that I shall abide and continue with you all for your furtherance and joy of faith; That your rejoicing may be more abundant in Jesus Christ for me by my coming to you again. Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;

He declared that the life he lived was Christ and death would be gain. Every believer should ensure that he lives in Christ and every glory should be returned to Him. Death is a great loss to a carnal worldly man but to a fulfilled believer it will be gain. He believes remaining in the flesh in Christ would offer him the opportunity of advancing the kingdom of Christ. It was a blessed path which Paul was in: not between two evils but between two good things. Living for Christ and being with Him.
The scripture in 1 Thessalonians 5:23 reveals the tri-partite nature of man as having a spirit, soul and body as represented in the diagram of the Tabernacle of Moses.
And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

When God first created man as revealed in Genesis 2:7, He formed man out of the dust from the ground.
And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

The ground of the earth then was not corrupted but pure, sanctified and fit for God’s use. God formed man and breathed the breath of life into his nostril. As soon as the breath of life which became man’s spirit came into contact with man’s body, the soul of man was produced. It shows that God’s breath is life-giving thus man became a living soul.
The scripture in 1Corinthians 6:19-20 confirms the thought that our spirit and body are God’s property, solely assigned to Him while our soul remains our personality.
What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

In the same vein the scripture in 1Corinthians 6:13 reveals that the body is for the Lord and the Lord for the body. This confirms how God places value on our body being His temple in this dispensation of grace.
Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.

Man’s spirit became the principle of life within him. The scripture reveals in John 6:63 that it is the spirit that gives life. The Holy Spirit gives life to our spirit which in turn is made available to our soul and body.
It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

What we receive at new birth is God’s Own Life so typified by the tree of life. But the human spirit though permanently in existence is void of “eternal life”.
The scripture in Job 33:4 reveals thus:
The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.

The scripture reveals that God “formed man from the dust of the ground” that is man’s body and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life. This refers to man’s spirit as it came from God and man became a living soul. Man’s soul was formed when the body was quickened by the spirit and it became a living soul. This is the self –conscious nature of man. Therefore a complete man is the composite of spirit, soul and body.
Let us take a critical look at our body which is our flesh and analyze its nature through the three dimensions of the Word of God: natural, spiritual and fullness in order to appreciate God’s work in us and deeply understand His dealings with our flesh in relation to our salvation.
