The Late 5: Federal government declares Monday public holiday; Nnamdi Kanu's lawyers says the IPOB leader is missing; 

“Nigeria at 57”

The Federal government hasdeclared Monday a public holiday in celebration of Nigeria’s 57th anniversary.

Nigeria’s Interior Minister, Lt Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau (retd.), making the declaration, urged Nigerians to “remain steadfast in the love and care of the country,” adding that “a strong sense of ownership of one’s country is vital to the sustainable development of any nation.”

Nigeria has exited ninety international organization in order to reduce cost, the minister of finance Mrs. Kemi Adeosun said on Wednesday during the Federal Executive Council meeting.

The minister said Nigeria spends a total of $70 million yearly as a member of 310 international organisations.

“Nnamdi Kanu is missing”

So says the Lawyers of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) group leader.

Kanu’s legal team led by Mr. Ifeanyi Ejiofor on Wednesday said it has filed a suit asking the court to direct Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Buratai to produce Kanu before the Federal High Court in Abuja.

On the international scene, Russian President Vladimir Putin said the Kremlin is destroying its last supplies of chemical weapons three years ahead of schedule — and event which he described as “historic.”

However, Putin complained that the United States had not fulfilled its own obligations to destroy chemical weapons.

“They have pushed the date back three times, citing a lack of funding. This, frankly, sounds strange,” he said during a Television broadcast.

Meanwhile, in the United States, Paul Horner, a popular purveyor of fake news who many believe to be ‘the guy who got Trump elected,’ is dead.

He was reportedly found dead in his bed on Tuesday, September 18. The cause and manner of Horner ’s death are yet unknown, but investigators suggested that there was evidence at the scene indicating the possibility of accidental overdose and no signs of foul play was seen.
